French Baguette Sausage Bread

  1. Place all bread dough ingredients in bread machine in the order as recommended by your bread machine manufacturer. Place on dough cycle. When finished, place in well oiled bowl, turn dough to coat all sides. cover with oiled saran wrap and let rise until doubled. While dough is rising, brown sausage in skillet with garlic, onion, and Italian seasoning. Drain grease. Place in large bowl. Mix in eggs and cheese. Set aside. Punch down dough. Lay out onto lightly floured surface and roll out into a large rectangle. Take meat mixture and cover surface of dough leaving 1 inch around the perimeter uncovered. Fold up short ends to secure meat mixture then roll up carefully lengthwise (you will have a long narrow roll). Pinch seams. Place seam side down onto foil covered cookie sheet. Brush top with egg white. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes until golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes then make 1" thick slices.
