"Without my regular pantry of spices, I made this one up when we spent Christmas at the beach in rental house with limited ingredients. To my delight, they were a big hit so for once I jotted the recipe down."

  • Prep

  • Cook

  1. Mix all ingredients except panko crumbs and oil
  2. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  3. When ready to serve, form 3” crab cakes and coat
  4. each one well with panko crumbs
  5. Fry in oil in 2 or 3 batches occasionally flattening with spatula until golden brown
  6. Drain on paper towel coated platter
  7. Serve with remoulade sauce
