"ok well- she might be mad at me later but; in the persuit of finding my own sugar cookie recipie I turned here and browsed, and failed. so i turned to my grandmother... and snagged this recipie out of her old Lutheran Church woman's group cookbook, its about 60 years old, handwritten and everything produced from it is a blessing on anyones table- hope you enjoy... and dont tell my gramma."

  1. In a large bowl combine : powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, almond and egg- mix or beat on medium speed.
  2. Stir in flour, baking soda and tartar.
  3. Cover and refridgerate 2.5 hours(at least). Half dough, roll out on floured pastry sheet to about 1/8".
  4. Cut with medium or large cookie cutters.
  5. Bake @ 375 for 6 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  6. Cool for half an hour before icing.
  7. I also have a recipie for a icing glaze that sets just lovely on these cookies.
