Thanksgiving Turkey with Italian meat stuffing


"Each Thanksgiving we all looked forward to my Mom's delicious turkey with Italian meat stuffing. When she got older and could no longer cook, I took over the Thanksgiving dinners. She is no longer with us but each year members of my family continue to ask for Grandma's recipe so they can make it for their own family. I would now like to pass it on to you."

  1. Sauté the ground beef, drain out the fat, and then combine with all the other ingredients. Stuff the turkey with the mixture before cooking the turkey.
  2. Rub the turkey with olive oil so it gets brown on the outside. Squeeze a couple of lemons over the turkey. Add chopped garlic, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  3. Cook the turkey at 400 degrees uncovered for about 45 minutes so it browns on the outside. Then cover and reduce heat to 350 degrees. Occasionally baste turkey. Figure about 25 minutes of total cooking time per pound of turkey. If the bottom of the pan begins to dry out, add water or chicken broth
