  1. Cook and stir beef in oil in a stock pot over medium heat until brown. Stir in 1 c. water, bouillion, salt, marjoram, thyme, pepper and bay leaf. Cover and simmer until beef is tender (2-3 hrs.)
  2. Stir in 4 c. water, carrots, celery, onions and lentils. Reduce heat and simmer 1-2 hrs.

To keep it low salt, I used a carton of low-salt, no MSG beef broth (instead of beef boullion/water). Thanks for the recipe Mominator!
