  1. 1. Chop sandwich filling according to directions. Mix the onions in with the tomato slices, and season with basil. Mix well.
  2. 2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat, or preheat the griddle to 325 degrees F.
  3. 3. Mix the garlic into the olive oil. Brush one side of each slice of bread with the garlic/oil mixture.
  4. 4. Place the bread slices seasoned side down on the hot surface. Layer each side with one slice of Muenster cheese.
  5. 5. Spoon the vegetable mixture onto 2 of the bread slices. Allow to sit while the cheese starts to melt, approximately 1 minute.
  6. 6. Place the other slice of bread on top of the mixture, and press. Allow to cook for approximately 2 minutes, then flip. Allow to cook for 2 minutes more, or until cheese is completely melted.
  7. Served best with tomato or roasted red pepper soup!
