  1. Cook rice and set aside.
  2. Cook and stir beef, onion, and garlic in 10-inch skillet until beef is light brown; drain.
  3. Add tomatoes, green pepper, raisins, salt, cinnamon and cloves.
  4. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  5. Cook and stir almonds over medium heat until golden, 2-3 minutes, while main dish simmers.
  6. Stir almonds and olives into beef mixture.
  7. Serve over rice.


This is my favorite variation, but that is likely because I ate it all the time when I was a kid. Thanks Mom!
