  1. In a sauce pan warm the chicken stock. Keep on low heat.
  2. In a different pot fry bacon until crisp.
  3. In the same pot as the bacon add pearl barley and 1 cup of stock. Stir until it is fully absorbed.
  4. Continue to add stock 1 cup at a time, waiting for it to be absorbed each time.
  5. Continue to simmer until barley is tender.
  6. Season to taste with salt and pepper.


Can really play with this as a base.
