  1. Heat oil and margerine in a heavy bottomed pan over low flame until bubbling
  2. Add onions and cook until translucent.
  3. Add mushrooms and saute for about 15 minutes
  4. While mushrooms are being sauteed, season the chicken with salt and pepper
  5. Add chicken to the pot, and cook until all the pieces have turned white
  6. Add water and boullion cube and simmer for 5 minutes
  7. Add chopped celery stalks and ginger powder.
  8. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder.
  9. Mix well
  10. Add butter and mix until mixture resembles course crumbs.
  11. Add milk.
  12. Roll into balls and add to stew. add more water if needed.
  13. Cover and cook for 15 minutes until dumplings swell to twice the size and they are cooked through.
