"I came up with this super simple recipe when I was cooking a large dinner, I wanted the desert to be as little fuss as possible, but taste great and this is what I came up with! I love apple empanadas and i love the combination of caramel with the pie filling, these are worth treating myself too! I like to deep fry mine, but i'm sure these would taste great baked in the oven also."
1.) Heat your oil to 350 if using deep fryer or med-high heat if using stove top.
2.) In mixing bowl, mix together- apple pie filling, 1/3 cup caramel topping and 1 tbs. cinnamon sugar.
3.) On a plate spread the cresant roll triangle out to give just enough space for a spoonful of apple filling. Once the spoonful in on roll, fold over and mend the edges together using your fingers or a fork.
4.)Once your rolls are ready, drop them into heated oil for 2 min per side or until golden brown.
5.)Immediatly after taking the empanadas out of the oil sprinkle the remainder of cinnamon sugar over both sides of the empanadas. Serve warm.
