"I made these for my mom because she is a huge lavender fan. They turned out to be amazing, way better than I expected. Keep closed watch on the oven tho, as baking times can really vary depening on the thickness of your cookies."

  1. Soak lavender in hot water. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together in the mixer. Drain water from lavender water.
  3. With the mixer running, add the lavender and the extracts; blend well. Gently mix in flour and salt. DO NOT OVERMIX OR THE COOKIES WILL BE TOUGH.
  4. Refrigerate the dough at least an hour or until firm.
  5. Roll the dough out onto a floured surface and cut into shapes with sharp cookie cutters, or roll the dough into calls and press with a cookie stamp.
  6. Bake about 15 minutes until the cookies are lightly browned around the edges.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool until firm on the cookie sheets before removing them to wire racks to dry.
