Eva's Yummy SauerKraut & Sausage and/or Pork Chops and Bacon


"A fast and hearty crowd pleaser, this dish is mindlessly easy to assemble and all love it. Even the babies lap it up. If I'm lucky there will be a little left over for lunch the next day. Truth is, it's best the next day. Can be made as spicy or mild as you desire. Can be made for 14 as readily as 4 in as little time, just cook it a little longer. Thank you Eva for sharing your family's recipe."

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch pan
  2. Cook bacon in skillet until beginning to brown, set aside
  3. Wash kraut to remove extra salt
  4. Skin onion, quarter and stick a clove in each
  5. Layer kraut, meats and onions in pan
  6. Top with bacon slices and drizzle bacon drippings over all
  7. Pour condensed beef broth and wine over all
  8. Cover, cook until onions are soft and meats are done (45 mins)
  9. Uncover, bring meats to top
  10. Cook until meats are browned and kraut has browned around edges of pan or until desired color
