  1. Brown and drain the meats.
  2. Add onion, garlic and seasonings, cooking until onion is clear.
  3. Add diced tomatoes.
  4. Pour tomato paste into tomato can and add 1 6 oz. can of water.
  5. Stir together and add to the skillet.
  6. Simmer just until heated through.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°
  8. Combine skillet ingredients with the cooked pasta in a greased, large oven-safe baking dish.
  9. Add the shredded cheese and toss together.
  10. Bake for 20 minutes, then top with cheese slices
  11. Return to oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
  12. Serve with a green salad and crusty Italian bread.


OMG! swchef helped me take my Mom's recipe from the 50's and made it so tasty. I made it yesterday. Did not cook the shells but added them into the liquid mixture and then added the browned b...

Made this again w/o bread crumbs and it was fine. Tasted great.

This was pretty good. I nixed the italian sausage and used a full pound of ground beef. Not quite sure what the bread crumbs added (except extra calories) so next time I'll skip adding those. ...
