  1. Pie crust:
  2. Mix flour, salt, and shortening.
  3. Add ice water a little at a time until you get a good consistency.
  4. Mix in almonds.
  5. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, until crust is slightly browned.
  6. (OR use your favorite pie crust recipe, just add almonds)
  7. Pie filling:
  8. Blend sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice, vanilla and almond extract.
  9. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until fluffy.
  10. Add powdered sugar to whipped cream, a little at a time, until it is sweetened to your liking.
  11. Fold cream into other ingredients and pour into cooled pie shell.
  12. Pour canned cherries on top and refrigerate at least one hour before serving.
