Sweet Raisin-Walnut Rice


"This is a wonderful recipe for rice, but it requires a rice cooker. This is a flavorful rice with sweet and sour hins of raisin, cranberry, and walnuts. Its very easy to make and great for all occasions."

  1. 1.Put rice in rice cooker. Pour in water until it is approx 1" above rice.Close lid and set to "cook rice."
  2. 2. Meanwhile, chop onion and prunes, and have other ingredients at hand.
  3. 3. As soon as most of the water is absorbed, mix in: oil,onion, Saffron powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. 4. Add more water until it is 3 inches above rice level.
  5. 5. Once most of the water is absorbed add: raisin,cranberries, prunes, and walnuts.
  6. 6. Cook until rice maker auomatically stops and switches to "keep warm" mode. Rice should be fluffy and soft at the end with all the water absorbed.
