  1. Cube bread and layer half in a 2.5-3 quart casserole dish.
  2. Cut the cream cheese into small pieces and scatter it across the bread.
  3. Cover with the remaining bread cubes.
  4. Mix the eggs, half-and-half, syrup and melted butter together.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes. Press the bread cubes down to absorb the mixture.
  6. Refrigerate overnight. In the morning, bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.
