"I got this recipe from my Aunt. I love baking cookies, and I've never tasted a better cookie than these. They're great for cutting out shapes because they don't rise like a lot of other cookie dough does and they keep there shape! My family loves them.... and I know yours will too! Enjoy =)"

  1. Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add egg, beat till light and fluffy, stir in milk. Sift together dry ingredients, blend into creamed mixture. Divide dough in half, chill for 1 hour. Roll on floured surface, cut out shapes.
  2. Bake on either a greased cookie sheet, or parchment paper. Pre-heat oven to 375 cook for 6-8 minutes
  3. cool and decorate.
  4. Butter Frosting:
  5. 1/3 cup of butter- no substitute
  6. 4 1/2 cup of milk
  7. 1 1/2 tsp vanilla- no substitute
  8. Mix all together until creamy. If the frosting is to thick add a couple tsp of milk until creamy. Add food coloring and use a baking brush to apply to cookies.
