Favorite Holiday French Toast

"This is our favorite Holiday breakfast. The French Toast makes its own syrup on the bottom of the pan from the apples and brown sugar. I like that I can assemble it the night before and pop in the oven in the morning."

  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. Combine brown sugar, butter and 1 t. cinnamon in a 13 x 9 baking dish. Add apples and cranberries. Toss to coat well,. Spread apple mixture evenly over bottom of baking dish. Arrange slices of bread on top.
  3. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla and remaining 2 t. cinnamon until well blended. Pour mixture over bread, soaking bread completely. Cover and refrigerate 4 to 24 hours.
  4. Bake covered with aluminum foil, for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 minutes more. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes. Serve warm.
