  1. Whisk together the whole wheat flour and baking powder; set aside.
  2. Whisk together the egg, milk and applesauce. Stir in the pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture and stir just until moistened.
  3. Heat butter over medium-high heat in a skillet. Drop batter by large spoonfuls onto the skillet and cook until are dry, about 2-4 minutes. Flip, and cook until browned on the other side. Repeat with remaining batter.
  4. Top with sliced banana, chopped walnuts and drizzle with real maple syrup.
