"These spouts should be young and tender cut into halves and rinsed in cold water and patted dry on paper. Just lightly sauteed in hot oil or butter just enough to heat not cooked though."

  1. In a medium sautee pan iorn or stainless steel and you oil or butter , note if you use butter be careful as not to burn butter.
  2. Second add your bacon very lean bacon is best.
  3. cook very slowly until very light golden brown.
  4. add spouts sauteeing quickly being careful not to overcook, then add pepper and ginger and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes and splash with wine or vermouth salt can be left out if you wish.
