"Loaf of french bread, sliced partially through from top to bottom, filled with an unusual combination (cheddar cheese, black olive bits, mayo or salad dressing) and a slice of ham. Baked until the cheese mixture is melted."
Consistency should be similar to cold cooked oatmeal. Slice bread a little bit thicker than commercially sliced bread (not all the way through), leaving bottom crust intact.
Stuff cheese mixture between each of the bread slices (1 tsp - 1 Tbs).
As the bread is filled, it will curl, so you may want to break bread into shorter lengths.
After all slices have been filled with the cheese mixture, stuff around a half slice of ham (or a full slice if using shaved ham) between each slice of bread, placing full slices on the end of any ends created if it was shortened during assembly.
Put on a cookie sheet or into rectangle baking pan lined with foil or well greased, cover with foil & bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.
Uncover and bake about 15 minutes more to crisp The top of the ham & the bread.
