"This recipe was given to me as part of a wedding gift recipe collection from a very dear friend. It is rich, aromatic, flavorfull and makes ALOT. So please grab the biggest pot you can find. I mean REALLY BIG. Extra sauce freezes well for future pasta dishes."

  1. Melt the butter with the olive oil, chopped garlic and chopped onion
  2. Add the ground beef and sausage
  3. Brown until not pink and meat is crumbly
  4. Add the spices
  5. Simmer for 20 minutes
  6. Add 29 oz can of tomatoe puree and two cans of water
  7. Add 18 oz can of tomatoe paste and one can of water
  8. Cook over low heat for two hours or longer-longer is better
