  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease 2 9 inch round cake pans.
  3. Sift together all dry ingredients.
  4. Beat wet ingredients, adding food coloring last in an electric mixer on medium speed until well incorporated. Slowly add dry ingredients to bowl, until all ingredients are combined.
  5. Bake for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Cool for 10 min in pan then turn onto wire rack
  7. Frosting:
  8. Mix together the cream cheese and the softened butter. Gradually add confectioners sugar for about 5 min or until smooth
  9. Add vanilla extract and frost the cake.
  10. After cake is frosted add nuts all aroud the sides of the frosted cake.
  11. Serves 10-12
