Soft, chewy Rosh Hashanah / Honey - Walnut Cookies


"This is a GREAT recipe for any honey lovers or for a great cookie for Rosh Hashanah ... The honey and walnut flavors together are divine... Yummy, soft/ chewy texture. Original recipe yields 24 servings

  1. Mix dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt) together, then toss in walnuts and mix. Set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together untill fluffy. Stir in honey and egg (and vanilla) untill well mixed.
  3. Mix wet (butter, sugar, egg and honey )mixture in w/ dry mixture untill just well combined (don't overmix).
  4. Chill mixture overnight or at least for an hour or two.
  5. Preheat oven to 350. Scoop/ roll teaspoon sized balls of dough onto LIGHTLY greased cookie sheets or parchment paper covered cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or untill JUST puffed (a little flatter in the middle if you like them really gooey) but still soft. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes untill easy to handle then transfer/ cool on wire rack.
  6. Once thoroughly cool, Enjoy! :)
