"This is my favorite daily bread. It's a whole wheat bread with a nutty, sweet taste. It's good for sandwiches and just plain eating. I've made this in a bread machine and in the oven."

  1. For bread machine, put ingredients in machine in order (or as specified by your machine's instructions), bake and enjoy!
  2. To mix dough in machine but bake in oven, bake at 350F for 35 minutes.
  3. For traditional breadmaking, dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl.
  4. Add oil, honey, and brown sugar to water.
  5. Mix flours, oats, salt, and bran. Add flour mixture gradually to water, mixing together until dough forms a kneadable ball.
  6. Knead for 7 minutes, adding flour if necessary.
  7. Place in greased bowl, cover with tea towel, and let rise in warm place until double in size (about 1 hour).
  8. Punch down, knead a few minutes, shape into loaf and place in large loaf pan.
  9. Let rise about an hour.
  10. Bake in 350F oven for 35 minutes.
