"This basic recipe came from a friend many years ago. We love them because they are as hearty as a granola bar, but, I think, better tasting. They are also fiber rich. I add peanut butter, coconut, flaxseed meal and bran as the extra ingredients, and we can't seem to get enough of them. But the possibilities are endless. The amounts in the opt. ingredients are suggested. You can add as much as you wish. Hope you enjoy these too!"
Spoon 1 1/4 cups flour in bowl with the next 7 ingredients (through the eggs). Mix well at medium speed 1 - 2 min.
By hand, add remaining flour and the rest of ingredients, including any of the optional ingredients. Mix just till moistened. Drop by tablespoon on lightly sprayed cookie sheets. Bake 350 degrees 10 - 15 minutes.
