  1. In a mixing bowl mix the vinegar, sugar and cloves.
  2. If needed add more vinegar or sugar to create a paste.
  3. Add uncooked pork chops and allow to marinade for a couple hours, turning a few times, making sure chops are coated.
  4. After the chops have been marinating, preheat oven to 375.
  5. Finely slice shallots and pears.
  6. In butter caramelize shallots for about 5-10 minutes over low heat.
  7. Add pears and cook for another 2 or 3 minutes.
  8. Transfer shallots and pears to 9x9 glass baking pan.
  9. Add 1/4 c. white wine to the shallots and pears.
  10. Add pork chops to the pan you used for the shallots and pears. Make sure there's a little bit of the marinade sugar in the pan.
  11. Cook for 3 minutes on each side over low heat, just enough to get a little brown.
  12. Add pork chops to the pears and shallots, making sure the chops are under a little bit of the mixture.
  13. Bake at 375 for 30-45 minutes, or until the chops are cooked through.
  14. Serve each chop with some shallots and pears.
