  1. first make large meat balls
  2. mix gently the beef, diced tomatoes, bread crumbs, eggs, 1 cup of the tomato sauce and pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. this will be a wetter mixture than regular meat balls.
  4. make 4 to 6 larger meat balls in the shape of hamburger patties. not round but more flat.
  5. place in large saute pan.
  6. on med high brown both sides of meatballs just 2 minutes on each side.
  7. add stewed tomatoes cover and simmer on med-low for 30 minutes.
  8. make mashed potatoes.
  9. to serve. spoon out mashed potatoes in middle of plate, add a meatball and helping of stewed tomatoes with juices right on top.
