  1. On high speed of an electric mixer, beat cream cheese until light and fluffy.
  2. Add cookies and beat until well combined.
  3. Refrigerate 2 hours until chilled enough to roll.
  4. Roll dough into 1 inch balls.
  5. Over a double boiler, melt chocolate chips and shortening until smooth.
  6. Dip balls into chocolate and thoroughly coat.
  7. Place on wax paper until set.
  8. Store in refrigerator.
  9. They also freeze well.
