Mary Lou's Ham and Cheese Strata

"This strata is easy to make. It's best when you let it soak for at least an hour, however to serve for breakfast, you can prepare the night before and refrigerate overnight. My kids love this for dinner. I use only ham and cheese, but you can doctor it up with your favorite veggies, other meats or cheeses."

  1. Prepare a 9x13" baking dish with cooking spray. Butter each slice of bread. Make six sandwiches with the ham and cheese. Place each sandwich in the baking dish. Beat eggs lightly, adding milk. Pour over sandwiches. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, flipping sandwiches once. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add cup of cheddar cheese over all. Bake for 30-40 minutes.
