Pumpkin and Apple Loaf

"Each autumn I go apple picking and visit the pumpkin patch for my usual Thanksgiving desserts. This year I had a little too much pumpkin and a lot of left over apples, so I came up with this."

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the eggs, pumpkin, spices and oil. Add apples, raisin and walnuts. Add dry ingredients. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Sprinkle sunflower seeds on top.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until and knife comes out clean when inserted in the middle.
  5. Cool before removing from pan.
