Scrub the potatoes; cut lengthwise into quarters. Combine the butter, garlic powder, salt and basil in a microwave safe glass pie plate. Microwave on high until the butter is melted (about 20 seconds).
Add the potatoes to the butter in the pie plate and toss to coat. Arrage larger wedges toward the outside of the dish.Cover loosely with wax paper.
Microwave on HIGH for 9-11 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
Half way through cooking time rotate the plate one-half turn and brush the potatoes with remaining butter in the dish.
