Render bacon in large heavy pot. Stir in onions, then carrots, celery, garlic, and jalapeno. Add sherry to deglaze, let cook down until almost dry. Stir in broth, tomato sauce, Worcestershire, and seasonings. Stir in ½ beans, bring to boil. Lower to simmer, blend with hand blender. Add rest of beans, adjust seasonings and broth amount, if needed. Simmer 10-15 minutes.
