Cookies- Mix the buttermilk and baking soda in small bowl;set aside. Sift the flour and baking powder in medium to large bowl; set aside. Cream sugar and butter in large bowl until smooth. Add the eggs, salt, and vanilla; mix until eggs are well blended. Add the buttermilk and flour mixture alternately.
Roll cookies to 1/4 inch thickness. Bake at 350 degree for 10-12 minutes. *Do not let the cookies brown*
Frosting-Mix butter, crisco, salt, and vanilla until creamy. Add the powder sugar slowly, mixing after each addition. Add the warm milk until the frosting reaches desired consistency.
