  1. Wash and cook the the Lentils/Dal in 2 cups of water or pressure cook with 2 cups of water.
  2. You can start cooking the lentils in advance.
  3. Add oil to pan.
  4. When oil is hot, add mustard seeds and when they splutter add the curry leaves.
  5. Add the vegetables. Saute in low heat with salt & tumeric powder until the vegetables are almost cooked.
  6. Add water if necessary.
  7. Grind the red chillis with coconut.
  8. Add to the cooked vegetables and saute for 2 minutes.
  9. Add the cooked dal and bring to a boil.Take off heat and serve with rice or roti.
