  1. Bring berries, water, sugar, orange juice and vinegar to boil in saucepan.
  2. Cook until liquid has reduced and thickened, and berries have broken down.
  3. Strain berries through sieve, removing seeds and reserving sauce.
  4. Combine melted chocolate, half the berry sauce, and sour cream, adjusting to taste and whisking until smooth.
  5. Serve berry fool between shortcake halves, topping with reserved berry sauce and sweetened whipping cream.
