"This is a very thick, healthy and filling stew type dish. It also freezes very well to be re-heated for a quick meal. It can be cooked in the oven, on the stove top or in a crock pot. You can subsitute Rice or Pasta for the Barley."

  1. Cook Barley / Rice / Pasta according to package directions
  2. Brown the ground beef / turkey with onion and garlic. Drain grease.
  3. Combine all ingredients in large casserole dish (9X13 or bigger)
  4. Cover with foil and cook in the oven at 375 for 60 minutes (place a cookie sheet underneath to catch any splatters). Will thicken as you cook.
  5. *You can also cook it in a large stock pot on the stove top for 60 minutes or in crock pot on low for 6-8 hours.


Great meal that goes along way. Makes alot so it freezes well for later
