Magic Jello

"My small children love to make this jello and refer to it as "Magic Jello". It makes an impressive side or dessert that's sure to be a conversation starter. It works well with either sour cream or, as we prefer, coordinating yogurt flavors."

Original recipe yields 12 servings

  1. Dissolve 1 package Jello with 1 1/2 cups boiling water.
  2. To 1/3 cup yogurt/sour cream, add 1/2 cup Jello mixture.
  3. Pour this Jello/yogurt mixture in a 9x13 inch glass pan.
  4. Chill 20 minutes, making sure pan is level.
  5. When set (about 20 minutes)continue.
  6. To remaining Jello, add 3 tablespoons cold water and pour over chilled and firm cream mixture.
  7. Chill 20 minutes.
  8. Repeat 6 more times alternating cloudy cream mixture with clear Jello mixture.
  9. It takes 4 or 5 hours, but it is a spectacular looking side dish or dessert.
