  1. Coat the insides of an 8 cup glass measuring bowl with cooking spray
  2. Combine butter, sugar, syrup, milk, and salt.
  3. Microwave on high for 2 minutes and stir.
  4. Microwave again for 2 minutes on high and stir well.
  5. Microwave on high ( no stirring) 12 minutes.
  6. Remove mixture carefully as it is very hot.
  7. Read tempurature with a warmed candy thermometer.
  8. Cook up to 2 more minutes until temp. is 245 degrees.
  9. Stir in vanilla.
  10. Allow to stand for 10 minutes, stirring several times.
  11. Pour into a buttered 9"x 11" baking pan.
  12. Refridgerate.
  13. Bring almost to room temp to cut, invert on a cutting board.
  14. Cut into small pieces.
  15. Wrap in waxed paper and twist ends closed.
  16. Store in the refridgerator.
