  1. In a large soup pot over medium heat, sautee the onions in the olive oil until translucent.
  2. Add the squash and potatoes to the onions and cook for five minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Add the tomato, celery and carrots, and can of garbanzos with the liquid. Cook for five minutes.
  4. Pour in water and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in the Hawaij and consomme until completely dissolved.
  6. Cook at medium heat until carrots, squash, and potatoes are tender.
  7. Lower heat to medium low, add salt and pepper, and serve.
