"A very rich and fudgey chocolate pie, passed down from my grandmother from her grandmother! We have it every thanksgiving and there is nothing left, even the "dieters" can't resist. Best served with a tall glass of milk!"

  1. Blend together all ingredients except butter and vanilla. Cook in double boiler until mixture thickens.
  2. Add butter and vanilla.
  3. Beat until smooth.
  4. Poor into pie shell.
  5. Beat egg whites, sugar, and vanilla until stiff.
  6. Spread over pie.
  7. Bake at 275* just until meringue is done.
