In a bowl combine salt, baking soda and flour. In a separate bowl beat cream cheese and butter. Add sugar and eggs, beating until light and smooth. Add flour mixture slowly to the cream cheese mixture, blend well. Dough should be soft, not sticky.
Roll out dough to approx. 1/8 inch thick. Cut into 2 inch squares. Fill with red currant filling (or your choice of filling - jellies, nuts etc.). Fold 2 opposite corners together and pinch closed.
Bake in 350° oven 15-20 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar.
