  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, mash the bananas. There should be no large chunks remaining.
  4. Add the eggs and bananas to the butter and sugar and mix.
  5. Add flour and baking powder and mix.
  6. Dissolve baking soda in warm water.
  7. Add baking soda/water mixture to the banana batter.
  8. Add vanilla and pecans and mix.
  9. Spray a loaf pan with cooking spray.
  10. Pour batter into pan.
  11. Bake for 1 hour.
