"Kasha is actually buckwheat and is a whole grain. It is mixed with onions and egg noodles to make this very simple traditional Western European side-dish. A staple at our Holiday table and delicious drenced in Pot roast or Turkey gravy."
2) Prepare Kasha (double the recipe and use the whole box) according to directions but substitute chicken broth for water. If you don't have enough broth- use water to fill in the difference. Set aside.
3) Saute onions in oil until lightly brown.
Toss Kasha, bowties & onions together and serve hot.
