Cut and discard stems. Wash leaves, rubbing and squeezing gently in warm water. Fill sink with warm water, 3 Tbs salt and 2 cups of the chicken broth and soak for 10min. Place greens in collander to drain excess liquid, do not rinse or dry. Place greens in large pot. Pour remaining broth over greens. Place remaining ingredients in pot and gently mix. Bring to boil, cover, turn to simmer and cook until greens are tender mixing occassionally for 45 min. to 1 hour.
