  1. Preheat the oven to 375° Fahrenheit.
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, adding salt and pepper to taste. Drain grease.
  3. While beef is cooking, add the baked beans, bbq sauce, brown sugar, and a handful of the cheese to a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. When beef is browned and drained, add to mixture. Continue to warm until oven is preheated and mixture seems warm and blended. Add more salt and pepper if needed.
  4. Transfer mixture to a casserole dish (16 x 9 glass dish usually works well). Separate biscuits horizontally, using the resulting thinner dough to layer over the mixture until mostly covered.
  5. Bake dish until biscuits are lightly golden brown, usually 15-25 minutes. When biscuits are golden, spread cheese evenly over the biscuits, and continue to bake until cheese is melted. Remove, let cheese cool, and serve.
