  1. Grease oven proof dish
  2. layer apple sliceson bottom of dish, and pour half of sugar over them.
  3. Pour the wine over the apple slices. Layer bread sliced on top, pushing down slightly to flatten them.
  4. Mix the cream iwth the eggs, the remaining sugar, and the vanilla. Pour mixture over bread and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  5. Bake the pudding in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden and set.
