"This is a simple dish that has a middle eastern name I cannot spell! I learned it from my ex boyfriend, his mom used to make it when there was nothing else on hand.It is not as fatty as the name describes! You will love it!"

  1. Open the can of fava beans and pour off the liquid into a med sauce pan
  2. Pour the fava beans into a bowl, and shell them(if you squeeze them gently at the black dot, they pop out of their shell)
  3. I use the can for the shells for easy clean up
  4. After shelling, drop into the liquid
  5. bring the beans to a boil over medium heat
  6. While your beans and oil are boiling, rip the pita into little piesces. Line a medium sized bowl with half the pieces, set aside the other half
  7. Meanwhile, put the oil into a small sauce pan
  8. bring oil to just before boiling over medium high heat
  9. Allow beans to boil for a minute and a half
  10. remove from heat and immediately pour slowly over bread
  11. Top beans with remaining bread pieces
  12. CAREFULLY splash drops of oil over bread pieces until gone, or as desired
  13. The oil fries the bread creating a slightly crispy, not too greasy bean dish!
  14. Amazing!
