  1. Melt chocolate in mixing bowl over hot water. Can use a double broiler or bowl over saucepan with hot water. With electric mixer blend sugar and water into chocolate. Beat in egg, then butter and vanilla. Frosting will be thin, put bowl in ice water and beat by hand until it becomes a thick consistency. Frosts a 2 layer cake.
