"I created this recipe many years ago for a cooking contest sponsored by Bon Appetit magazine. It won an Honorable Mention award and is one of my family's favorites. This can be prepared several hours ahead and baked when needed."

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a small bowl combine butter, bread crumbs, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, Old Bay seasoning, sherry and lemon juice. Mix well. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired. Set aside.
  3. Place shrimp in a lightly buttered 2 quart casserole. Cover shrimp with ham and then top ham with cheese. Place crumb mixture on top of cheese, patting with your fingers to distribute evenly.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and crumbs are golden. Serve with parsley-lemon rice (add a bit of butter, lemon juice and chopped parsley to steamed white rice).
